Privacy policy

This policy explains what happens to your data when you use adearnings.net. The short version: the calculator runs in your browser, we don't ask you to sign up, and we don't sell personal data.

Who we are

adearnings.net ("adearnings", "we") is a free ad revenue calculator and blog. For anything about this policy or your data, email [email protected].

The calculator

Everything you type into the calculator (traffic, network, region and so on) is processed in your browser. It isn't sent to us or stored on our servers.

When you click Copy share link, your settings are encoded into the part of the link after the #. Browsers don't send that part to the server when the link is opened, so we don't receive it. Anyone you share the link with can see the settings in it.

Export CSV creates the file on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Data our host receives

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, so it can deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare handles that data under its privacy policy.

Our fonts, scripts and images are served from adearnings.net itself. The only other company a page contacts is Google, for Analytics and AdSense (both below).

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they read, how they found the site and roughly where they are (country and city level). Google Analytics records things like the pages you view, your device and browser type, and links you click to leave the site. It doesn't receive anything you type into the calculator. We've set it to record page addresses without the part after the #, where share links keep calculator settings.

If you're outside the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Google Analytics sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_B1JK9FXTH0, which tell visits apart and keep track of a session. Google says they last two years (Google Analytics cookie usage).

If you're in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we've set Google Analytics not to store any cookies unless you consent, using Google's consent mode. Our consent message asks for it, and you can change your choice later with the Privacy and cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

Google processes this data under its privacy policy. You can stop Google Analytics from collecting data in your browser with Google's opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads and keep the site free. Pages load Google's AdSense script; ads appear once our account is approved. When ads are shown:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.

Google explains how it uses data from sites that show its ads at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you'll be asked for consent before any advertising cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time with the Privacy and cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

Cookies

The only cookies today are Google Analytics', described above, and only outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Ads will add more when they go live. Our cookie policy lists what's used and why.

Links to other sites

The calculator's sources and our articles link to other websites. Their privacy practices are their own, so check their policies when you visit them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, or to object to how it's used. Because we don't hold accounts or store calculator inputs, we usually have nothing to hand over, but you can email us and we'll answer. For data held by Google or Cloudflare, use their own tools linked above.

Children

The site is meant for adults running apps and websites. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We'll update this page when anything changes, such as when ads go live, and change the date at the top.
